20 John Rich, Sr., settled on a farm some distance south of New Garden M. Mtg. established in year 1751+. He and his family automatically became members of Center M. Mtg. established in year 1773, then Back Creek M. Mtg. established in year 1792, and then Marlborough M. Mtg. established in year 1816. Each was successively closer to the farm of .John Rich, Sr. In year 177 9, the southern half of Guilford County, North Carolina, was split off and named Randolph County. This change left New Garden M. Mt g . and Center M. Mtg. in Guilford County and left Marlborough M. Mtg. and the farm of John Rich, Sr., in·Randolph County. Also, Back Creek M. Mtg. south of .Marlborough M. Mtg. was established in Randolph County during the year of 1792. John Rich, Jr., was a member of Center M. Mtg. with his parent~ John & Sarah (Frazier) Rich. He married Martha Wall, dt. of John & Phebe (Buffing-ton) Wall, on Sept. 7, 1775, at Deep River M. Mtg. located west and near New Garden M. Mtg., Guilford Co., N. C. There were twelve witnesses. They became members of Back Creek M. l\1tg. automatically. John & Phebe Wall were married at Bradford M. Mtg., Chester Co., Pa., year 171+0, and lived in his home near East Caln. On July 7, 1760, John &Phebe Wall and family were received by certificate at Concord M. Mtg. from Bradford M. Mtg. On September '+, 1766, John & Phebe Wall and four children; Richard, Joseph, Phebe, and Martha, were granted certificate to New Garden M. Mtg., Guilford Co. , N. C. John Rich b.
