H. H e was a member of Johnson D. Quinby's company of N. H. M ilitia in 1814 He was a physician; and Marston of Sandwich says, v.. i th mild irony, "he had a college education-around here, at least." His brother Hosea Quinby in his ~1RS. , says Daniel married in Maine, first, Nancy Labanist er , born at Windsor, Me.; second Mary Campbell. He was granted 29 l\1ar. 1834, a United States patent on a ventilating stove. He died at Calais, Me., in June, 1842, and administration was granted at Sandwich, N. H. to Gen. J ohnson D . Quinby. Dr. Daniel Quinby of Sandwich having died intestate, " and there being no person in said county of Carroll to whom administration belongs, on account of r esiden ce, and your petitioner is a creditor to said estate,'' said J ohnson D. Quinby to the probate court, 3 Aug. 1842, asking t o be appointed administrator, which was accordingly done, and he gave a bond in $1,000, with Charles and George W.
